SS&C to add digital cash settlement to tokenised fund flows

Planned stablecoin and tokenised deposit settlement extends company’s post-Calastone digital infrastructure roadmap

SS&C Technologies plans to introduce digital cash settlement for tokenised investment transactions, expanding the capabilities it launched earlier this year for issuing and distributing tokenised funds.

The move will allow transactions to settle using regulated forms of digital cash, including stablecoins and tokenised commercial bank deposits. SS&C said the planned enhancements are designed to support future atomic settlement, reduce settlement risk and improve operational efficiency as digital markets evolve.

The development builds on SS&C’s tokenised fund infrastructure, introduced following its 2025 acquisition of Calastone. The firm already enables asset managers to issue tokenised versions of traditional investment funds through existing connectivity, positioning the model as an extension of mainstream fund distribution.

Nick Wright, general manager of SS&C Global Investor & Distribution Solutions, said tokenised funds are becoming “another mainstream investment structure alongside mutual funds and ETFs”.

“As asset managers begin supporting these products in production, they need infrastructure that evolves with them,” he said. “Today’s announcement represents another step in helping clients make that transition… building on our live tokenised fund issuance and distribution capabilities with the digital cash settlement infrastructure needed to support the next stage of market adoption.”

SS&C said the enhancements will create a pathway for eligible funds across the combined SS&C–Calastone ecosystem to be transacted and settled using digital forms of cash, extending the practical application of tokenised investment products.

Further details on availability and implementation timelines will be announced as development milestones are reached.
