BNY has launched new digital transfer agency capabilities, extending its fund servicing platform to support digitally native funds and tokenised assets across multiple jurisdictions and blockchains.
The new service enables fund managers to manage digital and traditional asset funds through a unified servicing model, combining BNY’s established transfer agency infrastructure with blockchain-based capabilities including tokenisation, distribution and custody.
“With this new capability, BNY is helping power the future of financial markets through digital market infrastructure with a global, scalable platform that integrates tokenization, distribution, and custody,” said Emily Portney, global head of asset servicing at BNY.
The firm said the platform will allow tokenised funds to operate with on-chain books and records, creating a single source of truth for ownership and transaction data while enabling asset mobility through fiat and stablecoin subscriptions and redemptions.
Carolyn Weinberg, chief product and innovation officer at BNY, said: “Digital Transfer Agency capabilities represent the next evolution of fund servicing, combining the same operational rigor, transparency and trust of traditional services paired with the future of innovation in digital markets.”
The service will initially launch with selected clients in the US and UK. Early adopters include Baillie Gifford and BlackRock, with Baillie Gifford already launching the first publicly available, fully native UK-regulated tokenised fund through the platform.
