Binance has made a $100 million strategic investment in Circle and extended its commercial partnership with the USDC issuer for a further five years.
The agreement will focus on expanding access to USDC across emerging markets, with Binance increasing the promotion and integration of the stablecoin across its platform while Circle provides the supporting infrastructure.
Jeremy Allaire, co-founder and CEO of Circle, said the partnership would help expand access to digital dollars and support new savings and investment opportunities globally.
Binance co-CEO Richard Teng described the investment as a long-term commitment to a more inclusive and transparent digital economy, adding that trusted digital dollars should be accessible to anyone with a smartphone.
