LSEG expands DiSH role with Canton Super Validator post

Role supports governance and infrastructure as the network scales across global markets

London Stock Exchange Group has expanded its presence in institutional blockchain infrastructure after being appointed a Super Validator on the Canton Network, strengthening its role in the privacy‑enabled ledger designed for regulated financial markets.

The move builds on the technical launch of LSEG’s Digital Settlement House (DiSH) earlier this year and extends the group’s existing validator activity through DiSH’s cash application on Canton. DiSH has already supported intraday repo settlement in DiSH cash as part of network Proofs of Concept, offering a regulated alternative to non‑cash settlement tokens such as stablecoins.

As a Super Validator, LSEG will help reinforce Canton’s governance framework, bolster network resilience and collaborate with participants across the ecosystem. The group also plans to bring additional services onto Canton as part of its wider digital‑market infrastructure strategy.

Bud Novin, Head of DiSH, said it was demonstrating how regulated institutions can move value digitally within a trusted controls environment.

“By becoming a Super Validator, we are strengthening our commitment to the Canton ecosystem and helping accelerate its adoption across LSEG businesses and clients,” he said.

Viv Diwakar, Head of the Canton Foundation, said LSEG’s appointment broadened the network’s global reach across capital markets, post‑trade and payments.

“The real opportunity is turning that connectivity into practical benefits for market participants and reducing friction,” she said.

The development marks another step in LSEG’s push to modernise settlement and post‑trade processes, positioning DiSH as a potential gateway for interoperable, multi‑chain institutional settlement using commercial bank money.
