Schroders launches Global Digital Assets Centre in Singapore

Schroders, one of the UK’s largest asset managers, has launched a Global Digital Assets Centre of Excellence in Singapore to advance its capabilities in tokenisation and digital finance.

The new centre will be led by Marita McGinley (pictured), global head of digital asset strategy, and will focus on developing digital solutions across Schroders’ core business. These include tokenised funds, collateral management and treasury tools, as well as building a scalable operating model using reusable digital components such as smart contracts and integration tools.

Gopi Mirchandani, head of client group, Asia at Schroders, said: “The launch of the Global Digital Assets Centre of Excellence is the culmination of significant efforts by teams across Schroders and marks a pivotal milestone in our journey to drive the evolution of asset management through digital innovation.”

The centre will also engage with regulators, industry groups and academic institutions to shape policy and promote best practices, Schroders said, and builds on its involvement in the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s Project Guardian.

Meagen Burnett, group CFO, added: “Digital assets are transforming asset management in a tale of two halves – through the existing financial ecosystem, and the new digitally native ecosystem.”

Schroders, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange, had £758.4bn in assets under management as of March 2025.
