Bitwise has listed an exchange‑traded product on Deutsche Börse Xetra, giving professional investors access to CC, the native token of the Canton Network.
The Bitwise Canton ETP (ticker BWCC) tracks the Kaiko CANTO Reference Rate LDNLF index and is fully backed by CC tokens held in cold storage. Bitwise said the launch reflects rising demand for regulated digital‑asset infrastructure as tokenisation initiatives accelerate across global finance.
Bradley Duke, Managing Director and Head of Europe at Bitwise, said: “The Bitwise Canton ETP is a timely addition to our growing suite of European crypto ETPs. Canton Network stands apart as a blockchain platform built from the ground up for global financial markets, combining privacy, interoperability, and programmability in a way that is specifically designed to meet institutional compliance requirements.”
Canton Network – a privacy‑enabled blockchain aimed at institutional capital markets – has been developed with participation from major institutions including Goldman Sachs, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Börse and Broadridge. The blockchain is designed to allow financial institutions to issue, trade and settle assets digitally while keeping sensitive transaction details private – a key distinction from public blockchains such as bitcoin or Ethereum.
Duke added that as tokenisation gathers momentum, Canton’s infrastructure “positions it as a meaningful player in digital financial markets”, with BWCC offering “convenient, exchange‑traded access to this ecosystem through a regulated ETP structure”.
Bitwise said the launch forms part of its broader European expansion, adding to a suite of institutional‑grade crypto ETPs aimed at investors seeking exposure to digital‑asset markets through regulated structures.
The product, issued by Bitwise Europe GmbH, carries a total expense ratio of 0.85% and can be traded via standard brokerage accounts without the need for a crypto wallet. It is not available to retail clients in the UK or France.
