Capital Pioneer writer and Rhotic Media editor Evy Williams has been named Best Newcomer at the 2026 State Street UK Institutional Press Awards, marking a standout achievement for one of the publication’s most dynamic emerging voices.
Williams (pictured, left) joined Rhotic Media in August 2023 as a degree apprentice and has since built an impressive editorial portfolio. Her work for Capital Pioneer has been central to her rise — particularly her Issue Three cover story on the future of insurance, which drew industry praise for its depth, clarity and forward‑looking perspective.
This latest accolade follows earlier recognition: in 2025, Williams was shortlisted as a finalist at the PPA Awards, signalling her potential long before her State Street win.
Announced yesterday (30 April 2026) in London, the State Street UK Institutional Press Awards celebrate excellence across institutional financial journalism, spanning pensions, regulation, investments, capital markets, private markets, technology, sustainable finance and more. Judges commended Williams for the strength, accuracy and maturity of her reporting.
State Street’s leadership highlighted the importance of the journalists recognised this year. “We extend our heartfelt congratulations to this year’s award recipients and nominees for their outstanding dedication and impact within our industry,” said Ann Prendergast, head of EMEA for State Street Investment Management. “A thriving media ecosystem is vital for the sector, and it’s our pleasure to recognise the contributions of all the nominees for this year’s awards.”
Williams’ achievement underscores the growing influence of a new generation of financial journalists and marks a proud moment for both Capital Pioneer and the wider Rhotic Media editorial team.
