ClearBank picks Taurus for stablecoin wallet infrastructure

ClearBank has entered a strategic agreement with digital asset infrastructure provider Taurus to support the bank’s expanding stablecoin-related services, the firms announced on 13 January.

Under the deal, ClearBank will use Taurus‑PROTECT as its wallet infrastructure, enabling the UK clearing bank to develop digital asset services for clients in what it describes as a secure, scalable, and compliant framework. The move forms part of ClearBank’s broader digital asset strategy, with a particular focus on stablecoin capabilities.

The integration will also connect Taurus‑PROTECT with Circle Mint, allowing ClearBank to support the minting and redemption of MiCAR‑compliant USDC and EURC. This follows ClearBank’s recent announcement that it plans to join the Circle Payment Network to facilitate global value transfer “with internet‑speed and blockchain transparency”.

“As our clients explore digital assets, they expect the same standards of security, resilience, and governance that they receive from our existing services,” said Mark Fairless, Chief Executive Officer at ClearBank. “We’re pleased to be working with Taurus‑PROTECT, which gives us the robust and compliant digital asset solutions we need. This partnership is an important step for ClearBank as we bring new, innovative services to our clients and help shape the future of payments.”

Taurus‑PROTECT forms part of Taurus’ wider digital asset infrastructure suite, designed for banks and financial institutions and offering secure safekeeping and management across a broad range of digital assets.

“We are delighted that ClearBank has chosen Taurus‑PROTECT as the foundation for its digital asset solution capabilities,” said Lamine Brahimi, Co‑founder and Managing Partner at Taurus. “ClearBank is recognised as an innovator in payments and clearing, and we look forward to supporting them as they modernise cross‑border finance.”
