DriveWealth and Ripple partner on digital asset infrastructure

DriveWealth and Ripple have announced a partnership to integrate stablecoin settlement, cross-border payments, digital asset custody and institutional financing capabilities into DriveWealth’s global investing infrastructure.

The collaboration aims to modernise how money moves between markets, helping financial institutions and fintech businesses manage funding, settlement and collateral across traditional and digital assets.

DriveWealth, a Brokerage-as-a-Service platform supporting more than 100 partners globally, provides infrastructure that enables fintechs, digital wallets and financial institutions to offer access to US markets. Ripple will bring its blockchain-based financial services, including payments, custody, stablecoin and prime brokerage capabilities, into the platform.

The partnership will initially focus on four areas.

Stablecoin settlement will see DriveWealth integrate Ripple’s stablecoin infrastructure to support settlement in Europe, with plans to expand into the US. The integration will use Ripple USD (RLUSD) on the XRP Ledger, alongside Ripple’s mint and burn capabilities.

For cross-border payments, DriveWealth is integrating Ripple Payments to support fund acceptance from its global partners, with the aim of streamlining how capital moves into its brokerage infrastructure across markets.

The companies are also working together on digital asset custody in Europe, with the potential to expand into additional markets over time.

Separately, DriveWealth and Ripple Prime are exploring equity financing opportunities through Ripple Prime’s Delta One business, extending the collaboration into US equities and equity derivatives.

The partnership addresses the differences between securities settlement timelines and international money transfers. While US equities operate on a T+1 settlement cycle, cross-border dollar transfers can take longer, potentially tying up capital and increasing funding requirements for financial institutions.

By enabling clients to fund and manage collateral accounts using stablecoins that convert to cash in near real time, the integration aims to reduce reliance on traditional bank wires and cross-border transfer windows.

Naureen Hassan, chief executive officer of DriveWealth, said the partnership would extend the platform’s funding and custody capabilities to stablecoins and digital assets.

She said the company had already enabled 24-hour, five-day trading and was now working to ensure funding could keep pace with market access, including outside traditional banking hours.

Jack McDonald, senior vice president of stablecoins at Ripple, said the initial focus on cross-border settlement had developed into a broader opportunity spanning trading, custody and settlement.

DriveWealth is also moving its treasury and custody infrastructure onto Ripple’s systems, with the aim of giving clients a consolidated view of funds held in dollars, stablecoins and cryptocurrencies, alongside the ability to transfer between them.

The companies will discuss the partnership at Ripple Swell in New York City on 28 October 2026.
