IBM has unveiled Digital Asset Haven, a new platform designed to help financial institutions, corporates and governments manage digital assets securely across multiple blockchains.
Announced on 27 October, the initiative positions IBM as a foundational infrastructure provider for regulated entities entering the tokenisation and stablecoin economy.
The accompanying IBM blog describes the platform as “a unified entry point into the digital asset economy,” offering full lifecycle support from custody to transaction routing and settlement.
Developed in partnership with wallet infrastructure firm Dfns, the platform integrates IBM’s confidential computing stack with Dfns’ wallet orchestration layer, which supports over 40 public and private blockchains and has already created 15 million wallets for more than 250 clients.
Clarisse Hagège, CEO of Dfns, said: “Together with IBM, we’ve built a platform that goes beyond custody to orchestrate the full digital asset ecosystem, paving the way for digital assets to move from pilot programs to production at a global scale.”
Key features include programmable multi-party approvals, policy-driven governance, and flexible key management across hot, warm and cold tiers. Institutions can embed wallets at scale via APIs and SDKs, with built-in support for KYC, AML and yield-generation services. Token indexing and multi-chain routing are also supported, enabling seamless operations across diverse blockchain environments.
IBM’s Offline Signing Orchestrator and Crypto Express HSMs enable cold storage and quantum-safe cryptography, addressing emerging regulatory and security concerns. The platform also supports confidential computing and secure enclave execution, allowing institutions to process sensitive transactions without exposing private keys or data.
Tom McPherson, general manager, IBM Z and LinuxONE, said the Digital Asset Haven offered financial institutions “the opportunity to enter and expand into the digital asset space backed by IBM’s level of security and reliability”.
IBM Digital Asset Haven will be available via SaaS and hybrid SaaS in Q4 2025, with on-premises deployment expected in Q2 2026.
