BlackRock stablecoin fund receives ‘AAAm’ rating

BlackRock’s tokenised stablecoin reserve fund has received an ‘AAAm’ rating from S&P Global Ratings, highlighting its focus on stability, liquidity and institutional-grade risk management.

BlackRock’s new tokenised money market fund has received an ‘AAAm’ principal stability fund rating from S&P Global Ratings, recognising the fund’s focus on capital stability, liquidity and risk management.

The BlackRock Daily Reinvestment Stablecoin Reserve Vehicle launched on 3 August 2026 and is designed to provide an eligible reserve asset for payment stablecoin issuers under the GENIUS Act.

The fund invests in short-term, high-quality assets including US Treasury bills, notes and other Treasury obligations with maturities of 93 days or less, overnight repurchase agreements secured by Treasury instruments, and cash.

S&P Global Ratings said its rating assessment considered the creditworthiness of the fund’s investments and counterparties, its maturity structure and BlackRock’s ability to maintain a stable net asset value.

BRSRV is structured as a tokenised money market fund, with shares issued as digital tokens across multiple blockchain networks, including Ethereum, Solana and Tempo.

The fund uses blockchain technology for shareholder recordkeeping through a partnership with Securitize, while traditional financial controls remain in place.

BNY Mellon acts as custodian, while Deloitte provides audit services.

S&P said its operational assessment found the fund’s tokenisation framework to be resilient, highlighting controls designed to mitigate cyber, smart contract and network-level risks.

The rating agency also noted BlackRock Advisors’ established investment processes and risk management capabilities as key factors supporting the final ‘AAAm’ rating.

BlackRock, which reported .3 trillion in assets under management in the second quarter of 2026, continues to expand its presence in digital assets and tokenised financial markets as institutional adoption of blockchain-based products grows.
