BNY backs DigiFT’s on-chain equity strategy
DigiFT, a regulated on-chain exchange, has introduced the first actively managed tokenised US equity income fund on the Ethereum public blockchain, “bEQTY”.
The DigiFT US Equity Income Fund is managed by BNY, which oversees the underlying traditional US equity income strategy, extending tokenisation into actively managed public equities.
“For years, tokenisation has been about proving the technology. This launch proves its use case,” said Henry Zhang, founder and group CEO of DigiFT.
“By bringing an actively managed equity income strategy on-chain within a regulated market, we’re demonstrating how blockchain infrastructure is becoming part of mainstream institutional finance.”
The launch highlights how regulated on-chain infrastructure is advancing beyond early-stage applications to support more sophisticated areas of capital markets, according to DigiFT.
“By bringing tokenisation to public equities, we’re demonstrating how proven investment strategies can operate on blockchain, anchored in institutional trust, scale, and governance,” said Doni Shamsuddin, head of Asia Pacific at BNY Investments.
As tokenisation matures, extending its capabilities into actively managed public equities marks a natural next phase, moving beyond single assets toward regulated, strategy-driven investment products.
