European digital asset inflows partially offset US outflows

Find out more about regional differences in investment into digital assets, with European inflows partially offsetting outflows from the US.

Digital asset investment products saw a fourth consecutive week of outflows last week, totalling 3 million.

For the week ending Friday 13 February, the cumulative four-week run of outflows rose to .74 billion, according to research from CoinShares.

However, there were significant regional differences in investment flows to digital assets. The US saw 3 million in outflows, while all other regions recorded inflows totalling 0 million.

The majority of the investment came from Germany, which totalled 5 million in inflows, as well as Canada at .3 million and Switzerland at .8 million.

Bitcoin saw the weakest sentiment, with 3 million in outflows, although short Bitcoin investment products also recorded outflows, now totalling .4 million over the past two weeks, a pattern often seen near market lows.

Ethereum also suffered, with .1 million in outflows, as did Hyperliquid, which saw million in outflows.

Sentiment remained buoyant for XRP, Solana and Chainlink, which saw inflows of .4 million, million and .1 million respectively last week.

In a separate statement on the current state of crypto investing, Dovile Silenskyte, director, digital assets research, WisdomTree, said: “Ethereum anchors on depth and institutional maturity, while Solana introduces cyclical, higher-beta income exposure. Income does not eliminate volatility, but it changes the return profile and the investor behaviour around it.”
