JP Morgan Asset Management has selected fintech provider Kurtosys as its strategic technology partner for client reporting following a global evaluation process lasting more than 15 months.
The partnership forms part of a wider programme to modernise the asset manager's reporting infrastructure, replacing a fragmented environment spanning multiple platforms and workflows with a more unified global framework.
JP Morgan Asset Management said it aims to create a reporting model that enables teams to deliver customised client outputs at scale while strengthening governance, workflow controls and consistency across regions and business units.
The initiative will combine the firm's existing data infrastructure with the Kurtosys reporting platform, allowing reporting teams to draw from a single governed data foundation while producing content in multiple formats for different client needs.

John Gibson, managing director and head of EMEA client service and global client reporting at JP Morgan Asset Management, said the firm had been modernising its data layer for some time to support a more flexible client reporting experience.

"Delivering a modern client reporting experience means meeting each client where they are and providing data in the format they need," he said.

He added that Kurtosys stood out during the selection process because of its focus on empowering reporting teams and its plans to embed AI capabilities throughout the platform.

For Kurtosys, the agreement reflects growing demand among investment managers for more automated and intelligent reporting environments as firms seek to manage increasingly complex client communication requirements.

Lee Godfrey, chief executive of Kurtosys, said client reporting had become "as much an operating model challenge as a technology challenge", sitting at the intersection of data, technology, operations and client experience.

The companies said the new framework is intended to support future automation initiatives and AI-enabled services, as well as emerging data exchange technologies that could allow clients to receive reporting information through their preferred channels.

JP Morgan Asset Management manages $4.8tn in assets globally; Kurtosys provides client communications and reporting technology to investment managers across Europe, North America and the Middle East.
