Revolut unveils euro stablecoin

Revolut has announced the launch of its first stablecoin, marking a significant step in the fintech giant's ambitions to expand its presence in digital assets and on-chain payments.

The new token, EURR, is a euro-denominated stablecoin designed to maintain a value of €1 and provide customers with a euro-native alternative to the predominantly US dollar-backed stablecoin market.

Issued by Bridge and fully integrated into Revolut's ecosystem, EURR will be available for use across supported crypto services, external wallets and blockchain networks. The launch forms part of Revolut's wider vision to develop a suite of stablecoins denominated in multiple currencies.

The move brings one of Europe's largest fintech platforms further into the digital assets infrastructure space. Revolut now serves more than 80 million customers across over 40 markets, offering services spanning payments, banking and cryptocurrency trading.

Unlike many of the market's largest stablecoins, EURR is designed to provide exposure to the euro rather than the US dollar, potentially appealing to European users seeking a local-currency option for on-chain transactions.

A phased rollout to eligible customers will begin this month, with initial availability focused on selected European markets including Denmark, Portugal and Poland.
