Capital Pioneer’s parent company, Rhotic Media, has been honoured with a King’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of its work promoting opportunity and social mobility through talent development.
Rhotic Media is one of just 185 organisations across the UK to receive the prestigious 2026 King’s Award for Enterprise, with the recognition specifically highlighting its contribution to creating pathways into the financial services industry for non-traditional talent.
Founded in 2018 and based in London, Rhotic Media is a financial services content and marketing agency working across capital markets, insurance and personal finance. It also publishes industry titles including Financial Promoter and Capital Pioneer, alongside delivering marketing campaigns and media services for financial sector clients.
The award recognises the company’s apprenticeship-led and inclusive hiring model, which includes degree apprenticeships, paid internships and continuous professional development.
Since launching its apprenticeship programme in 2019, Rhotic Media has partnered with London South Bank University and Anglia Ruskin University to combine academic study with hands-on industry experience.
Apprentices and early-career staff trained through the programme have gone on to roles at major firms including UBS, Aon and Howden, while the business continues to deliver work for clients such as Kula, BCB Group and Schroders.
Rhotic Media also invests in ongoing professional development across its workforce, funding qualifications such as the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and supporting training for employees at all levels.
Joe McGrath, CEO and founder of Rhotic Media, said the award reflects the company’s founding mission to widen access to the industry.
“It is an absolute honour to be recognised by His Majesty in this way,” he said. “One of the founding principles of Rhotic Media was to advance opportunities for those who may not otherwise have access to them.”
He added that the business remains focused on continuous learning and long-term career development, regardless of background.
Now in its 60th year, the King’s Awards for Enterprise are the UK’s most prestigious business honours. Winners are entitled to use the King’s Awards Emblem for five years as a mark of excellence in domestic and international markets.
