Ripple adds native digital asset tools to treasury platform

Ripple has added native digital asset functionality to its treasury management system (TMS), becoming the first provider to embed such capabilities directly into a TMS rather than relying on external wallet platforms or third‑party integrations.

The company has introduced two features, Digital Asset Accounts and Unified Treasury, to its Ripple Treasury platform. Both sit within the existing system and allow digital asset balances and transactions to be managed alongside fiat cash positions without altering established workflows or approval processes.

The launch follows Ripple’s 2026 survey of more than 1,000 finance leaders, which reported that 72% believe offering a digital asset solution will be necessary to remain competitive. Despite this, most corporates have not adopted digital assets in treasury operations due to the need for separate systems, manual reconciliation and duplicated processes.

Digital Asset Accounts allow treasury teams to hold assets such as XRP and Ripple USD (RLUSD) within the TMS. Balances are recorded to 15 decimal places, and each transaction includes the native amount, the fiat equivalent and the exchange rate at the time of the event.

Unified Treasury provides a consolidated view of fiat and digital positions, drawing data from banks and digital asset custodians through the same integration layer. Balances and transactions update automatically within the dashboard.

Ripple said the new capabilities are optional and can be adopted at an organisation’s own pace. The company plans further additions, including access to tokenised money market funds, overnight repo and faster cross‑border intercompany settlement.

Ripple’s survey also found that 74% of respondents believe stablecoins could improve cash‑flow efficiency, though most organisations do not yet have the infrastructure to support their use. Ripple said the new features are intended to address that gap by placing digital asset functionality inside the systems treasury teams already use.
