Thunes has expanded its stablecoin liquidity management capabilities with the launch of EURC prefunding across its Direct Global Network.
The integration of Circle’s MiCA-compliant, euro-backed stablecoin will allow eligible network members to use EURC to prefund transactions and manage treasury flows on a 24/7 basis.
“At Thunes, we pride ourselves on being early adopters who consistently push the boundaries of payment interoperability. Integrating EURC prefunding is a natural evolution of our vision to seamlessly bridge traditional fiat with the digital asset economy,” Chloé Mayenobe, deputy CEO at Thunes, said.
The move builds on Thunes’ collaboration with Circle, which began in October 2024 with the introduction of USDC-powered liquidity to the payments network.
According to Thunes, the addition of EURC will allow fintechs, neobanks, payment service providers and other network participants to fund euro-denominated transactions outside traditional banking hours, including at weekends and on public holidays.
EURC prefunding will be supported across Ethereum, Solana, Base and Stellar, while Thunes’ network connects digital assets with more than 90 fiat currencies.
The infrastructure will also allow Web3-native companies to fund accounts directly from digital treasuries using EURC, rather than converting holdings into fiat first.
Kash Razzaghi, chief commercial officer at Circle, added: “Thunes is building the kind of global payment infrastructure that can translate stablecoin utility into real business value. With EURC now supporting treasury funding on the Thunes network, businesses can access regulated euro liquidity with the speed, flexibility, and operational continuity needed for modern cross-border payments.”
