Ctrl Alt Secures Irish MiFID Licence

Ctrl Alt Technologies Limited, a tokenisation infrastructure provider, has received MiFID authorisation from the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI).

The authorisation lets Ctrl Alt conduct regulated investment services and securities business across Ireland.

This allows the firm to “passport” its services, meaning it can offer the same regulated services across the wider European Economic Area (EEA).

Ctrl Alt already holds a Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) licence in the UK, and a VASP licence from Dubai’s VARA, where it became the first firm to receive an Issuer licence from that regulator, alongside a Broker-Dealer licence.

The CBI authorisation adds a third jurisdiction, building a multi-jurisdictional regulatory footprint.

Jordan McMullen, CEO, Ireland at Ctrl Alt, said the authorisations across Ireland, the UK and the UAE gave Ctrl Alt one of the strongest regulatory positions in the market. He added that each licence reassured clients the firm operated under established supervision.

As of July 2026, Ctrl Alt has tokenised over $1.5 billion in assets across real estate, private credit, funds and commodities.

Matt Ong, Founder and Group CEO at Ctrl Alt, said Ireland and the wider EU were central to the firm’s tokenisation plans, noting its long-standing presence in the country. He added that the funds industry in particular was moving towards tokenisation, and that the authorisation positioned Ctrl Alt to support that shift.

The CBI has also published a Discussion Paper on tokenisation and Distributed Ledger Technology, reflecting growing regulatory engagement with how the technology could support investment and capital formation in Ireland.
